For decades,Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş., the top bank in Turkey, has understood the importance of having a presence in foreign markets. Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. was the first Turkish bank to establish subsidiaries abroad – a German branch began operating in Hamburg in 1932. During World War II, this branch was closed.

In 1976, Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. again established a presence in Germany by opening a representative office in Frankfurt am Main. In subsequent years, a network of representative offices and branches was set up in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

İşbank AG was founded in 1992 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. and subsequently took over its parent company’s operations in Europe.

İşbank AG is therefore now the European arm of Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. As one of the most well-respected and experienced Turkish banks headquartered in Germany, it plays a key role in implementing its parent company’s international expansion plans.

İşbank AG is currently one of the leading financial institutions with a Turkish capital interest in Europe and serves key trading and financial markets with its European network of 9 branches. One of İşbank AG’s top priorities is promoting close commercial and other ties between Europe and Turkey.
